Higher Education Associations Advocate for Relief for Student Loan Borrowers AAC&U joined the American Council on Education and thirty other higher education associations in asking Congress to provide relief to the 13.7 million students borrowing to finance their college education and to the 44 million borrowers already in repayment. Loan relief offers important short- and long-term benefits, both to individuals and the overall economy, and should be targeted to help borrowers who face the greatest difficulty repaying loans. Survey of College Presidents on Future Repercussions of Coronavirus In this new survey from AAC&U and ABC Insights, members of AAC&U’s Presidents’ Trust detail their perceptions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the actions they anticipate taking to mitigate its impacts. A majority of college and university presidents anticipate reengineering operations, providing student refunds, cutting costs, freezing hiring, implementing furloughs, or laying off staff. Applications Open for 2020 Delphi Award The Delphi Award presents a $15,000 award to institutions that have demonstrated effective strategies to support non-tenure-track, contingent, or adjunct faculty in pursuing strategic priorities such as student learning and community engagement. The award is an initiative of the Pullias Center for Higher Education at the University of Southern California in partnership with AAC&U.
